At 2:00 pm, Dan will present a concert at Trinity Baptist Church, 1088 Hughes Road in Madison on the church’s new Rodgers 3 manual Trillium Masterpiece Organ.

At 6:00 pm, Dan will play the 3 manual Rodgers Masterpiece Signature Series Organ in the beautiful new sanctuary of Calvary Baptist Church, 126 Douglas Road in Huntsville.

Each of these organs have unique tonal characteristics and are based on different samples from Rodgers library of sounds originating from some of the world’s finest pipe organs. Rodgers exclusive Parallel Digital Imaging replicates the sound of actual pipes with amazing warmth and clarity.

Why not make it a Dan Miller day and attend both concerts!

Dan has a reputation for leaving audiences thrilled at the music and emotionally impacted by the beauty of the organ with all its variety of colors and moods. It will be a great way to start your week.

A church organist since age fifteen, Dan Miller has served at notable churches across the country. As Organist and Minister of Music at Calvary Church in Charlotte, Dan had the privilege of being part of the design team for Calvary’s new organ. This magnificent organ is the thirteenth largest playable organ in the world and is internationally renowned as one of “the” organs in history. When asked, Dan admits that the Calvary Grand Organ is probably his favorite organ. At Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, Fort Lauderdale, he served as assistant organist to Diane Bish and was a Founding Member and Director of The Voices in Bronze handbell ensemble. Currently Dan is the Organist for St. Matthew Lutheran Church and the Artist in Residence for Bethel Congregational Church in Beaverton, Oregon. He also serves many churches nationwide as Guest Organist for their worship services.

Dan has widely played and concertized around the country at some of the most renowned instruments, including the Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia and the Methuen Memorial Music Hall in Massachusetts, the Mormon Tabernacle and the Crystal Cathedral. He’s even performed with the Muppets! He has been seen and heard live in concert and through recordings on radio, television, and the internet and has been the featured solo organist with several symphony orchestras.

Mr. Miller has recorded 20 organ compact discs, of which some selections have been broadcast on National Public Radio’s “Pipedreams.” His first CD, The Calvary Organ Dedication, was chosen as “The Organ CD to Die For” by Stereophile magazine in its February 1994 issue. Many of these CD’s will be available after the concert.

He is a former Dean of the Ft. Lauderdale chapter of The American Guild of Organists, and has served the Portland chapter AGO as Membership Coordinator. Since 1999 Mr. Miller has held the distinguished position of Product Manager at Rodgers Instruments LLC, one of the world’s leading organ builders, in Hillsboro, Oregon. In this position, Dan oversees the entire artistic direction of the celebrated “Rodger’s sound”. In addition to his responsibilities at Rodgers, Dan enjoys working as consultant and advisor in designing heroic grand organs of world-class significance and pre-eminence.

Mark your calendars now to experience one or both of these exciting concerts. This would be a great opportunity to introduce the beauty of the organ with all its variety of colors and moods to friends and younger students.

He is also an assistant organist for the historic Wanamaker organ inside Macy’s of center city Philadelphia. His permanent residence is in Stockbridge, Georgia, where he previously served for six years as pianist at his home church of Providence Reformed Presbyterian. (RPCUS) Bryan has studied piano since the age of 4, first with his father, and then for eleven years with Jeannine Morrison. He began pipe organ lessons at age 12, and studied with Sarah Martin until his entrance into Curtis at age 17. Bryan was the local winner, and then went on to represent the Atlanta chapter and was awarded first place at the region IV American Guild of Organists/Quimby competition this past summer in High Point, North Carolina. He will be featured in concert at the upcoming national convention of the American Guild of Organists in July, 2012.
